1 VERSE
The preacher told the story when I was just a kid,
of a man who would be put to death for some evil things he did.
But then he said another man who was haning be his side,
forgave the thief that day just before he died.
I'd always been a church kid and i thought I'd never sinned.
But sitting there I understood I must be born again.
I knelt down atthe altar and prayed an earnest prayer,
and in that moment grace came and met me there.
The same grace that saves a life that's ripped and torn in two,
puts it back together and makes it all brand new.
Is the same grace that still mends broken hearts at calvary.
And that same (same grace) amazing grace (amazing grace) saved a child like me.
And through the years I've come to understand and know it's true (I know it must be true).
It's all in God's salvation plan, not something that we do
